How plastic bag prices are calculated

We do not publish a price list because prices move with raw materials and every order's specification. We can explain exactly what decides it, and the quotation is free with no obligation.

Price per kilo

Bag factories price by the kilo, not per bag. A lighter bag (thinner or smaller) means more bags per kilo, so the price per bag goes down.

What moves the price

  • Material: HDPE and LDPE raw materials are priced differently.
  • Thickness: every extra micron adds weight per bag.
  • Size and side gusset.
  • Printing: number of colours, one or two sides.
  • Film colour.
  • Quantity: larger volumes and regular supply get better pricing.

How to get an accurate quote

Send the size (width × length), thickness if known, material or intended use, number of colours, and quantity in kilos or pieces. We reply with a quotation and reference number during working hours.

A note on weight

The final weight may be up to 15% above or below the requested weight, and the invoice is based on the actual weight.

Common questions

Why is there no price on the website?

Because it depends on six factors that change per order, and on raw material prices at the time. The quotation is free.

Is printed much more expensive than plain?

Printing adds to the price according to colours and sides, and printed bags have a minimum of 200 kg per size.

How do I know how many bags are in a kilo?

The calculator in the quote form and in Design your bag estimates the count from size, thickness and material.
